The power of ethereal magic casts a strange aura over your physical presence. Your body is still adjusting to the material plane, as if it struggles to remain physical and yearns to return to its ethereal form.

Poltergeist Spells

You know the Fling Cantrip (Transmutation)
Choose one object weighing 1 to 5 pounds within range that isn’t being worn or carried. The object flies in a straight line up to 60 feet in a direction you choose before falling to the ground, stopping early if it impacts against a solid surface.
cantrip and it doesn’t count against your cantrips known. You learn additional spells when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown on the Poltergeist Spells table. Each spell counts as a sorcerer spell for you, but it doesn’t count against the number of sorcerer spells you know. These spells can’t be replaced when you gain a level in this class.

In addition, consult the Poltergeist Manifestations table and choose or randomly determine a way your connection to the ethereal plane manifests while you are casting any of your sorcerer spells.

Poltergeist Manifestations

5 Your skin gets a blue tint to it, and it’s almost see-through.
6 Objects around you rattle or tilt without being touched.

Potent Incantations

Starting at 1st level, your sorcerer cantrips deal additional damage equal to your Charisma modifier.

Animate Object

Starting at 6th level, you can use your action to animate one Large or smaller object for 1 minute or until you lose concentration, as per the Animate Objects 5th Level (Transmutation)

Unseen Spectre

Beginning at 14th level, some of your Poltergeist spells gain the following benefits.

Invisibility. You can cast Invisibility 2nd Level (Illusion)
A creature you touch becomes invisible until the spell ends.
on yourself without expending a spell slot. It doesn’t end early when you cast or deal damage with spells from your Poltergeist Spells feature.

Levitate. You can cast Levitate 2nd Level (Transmutation)
One creature or object of your choice that you can see within range rises vertically, up to 20 feet, and remains suspended there for the duration.
without expending a spell slot. It doesn’t require your concentration, but it ends on a target if you cast it on a different one.

Effortless Haunting

By 18th level, when you cast a spell from your Poltergeist Spells feature that requires concentration, you can expend sorcery points equal to half the spell’s level (rounded up) in order for it to not require concentration. The spell ends if you dismiss it as an action or use this feature again.
